Patterson Park Public Charter School Reviews

My son is a Kindergartner and we love it. I love that the school has a whole-child approach to learning that is hands on and thematic, my son loves 'centers', and depending on the week, his favorite specials time is music, art, gym or Spanish. The school has a great school climate that you can feel when you walk in, there are projects and examples of students work on the walls and the staff & parents all seem to be very committed to the success of the school and the kids. The school is diverse, racially, ethnically and socio-economically & celebrates its diversity- which is unique in Baltimore city schools. I also like that it is K-8 so we don't have to worry about changing to a different school for middle school. It's a great fit for our family.

This will be our family's fourth year at PPPCS and we love it! The curriculum has been refined even further this year into an exciting Thematic/Experiential learning approach. In my personal conversations with teachers, they feel very supported by the administration and are very excited to be a part of the growth at PPPCS. Many of the children seem to have a wonderful sense of ownership in their school and as I have heard a few times from different kids, 'Smart kids are not teased at our school. They are looked up to by the other kids.' PPPCS is providing our family with one of the best reasons to stay and raise our child in Baltimore City.

Patterson Park Public has made tremendous strides in the past year! New leadership, a rejuvenated parent group, and a renewed focus on the charter, student achievement and climate are making our school a great one.

I have found PPPCS to be the best fit for my daughter, the teachers are very creative, they use Project Based Learning, they also have an open door policy, so you always feel welcome to come in and and be part of the school, not just your childs classroom, I can come in and visit my daughter's classroom anytime. There is great sence of community, and as I parent I feel like my opinions are always taken into consideration.
