West Baltimore Middle School Reviews

I am an alumni of West Baltimore Middle School, class of 2007 and its not as bad as what some people may believe. Yes, we had our fights, and yes we had the occasional teacher that didnt care about how many students he/she taught or learned anything, but what school in baltimore city and baltimore county does'nt have those things? But the one thing that does and always will make us different from other schools is the fact that our school community was like a family, we stood by each other we always tried to lift each other up when we were down, and when we did do something wrong, we had consequences that followed, and if we continued to make that same mistake, we would continued to get that same consequence untill it was enstilled in our brains that we can not act a certain way.

I like the school. but the students are mean to 1 another. like they be cussin at each other, fighting, hitting. its really to much for the teachers. like 1 teacher said i will let u fall the quiz. he didn't care. but some of his best students wanted to learn. so he took it out on everybody. the tearchers need more control of the students.

The school needs more teachers that really care for the education of the students and a principle that is going to discipline the kids. They need a better principle. The school really needs to improve there teachers, principles, rules and some of the students that attend the school.

This school needs alot of work it is too many students in one class and some of the teachers are doing the best that they can. We need more parent involvement we cant expect the staff to do it all themselves.I have decided to move my son into a baltimore county school after him getting banked on one of the many over crowded mta buses . We as parents need to take responsibility for our own kids and stop depending on teachers to babysit for us they are there to get an education. This school needs major improvements.

I think the school has improved over the years and the students are actually learning something. Its not as bad as it used to be

West Baltimore Middle School may not be the best school in the world but it is I've seen worse.Being there for three years and graduting with honors in June 2005 has taught me to always work hard because nothing will just be handed to you.For all the parents that say 'Someplace Special' is a place that is not focusing on your childs education has it all wrong....I know this place well and I know that the teachers' and staff do not allow the students to fail because when one fails we all fail. The W.B.M.S. family has gone through trails and tribulations, but they aren't ever acknowledge for the positivity that occurs within the school.I know this for a fact because many people didn't expect c/o 2005 to graduate but mainly 96.4% of us did and we all attend the best citywide or private schools.

I think the school is terrible. I know the teachers are trying and you can't home train these kids if their parents won't, but I am raising a respectful and honest child and any school that either afraid to put their foot down or kick out, permanently, the trouble makers should expect poor reviews. My daughter hates the school and we are moving, so she won't be returning. Children reading this review: Tell your friends to get it together. Parents reading this review: good luck with your children. I want my daughter to excel. Fortunately, I have the common sense to take her out this school.

This school is not organized. The kids are rude and some of the teachers are worse than the kids. Foul language from the kids and the teachers. Until they can get the school board down there to sit for a week and straighten out the problems that is one school that is going to get worse and worse. They do not have good communication with the parents. Something goes on we have to find out from the children and that is not good. My son hates that school and the only reason he is there is because it is close to home. This is a terrible school!

i think This school is great. I have over 89 friends at this school. If your child was ever shy she would,t be any more after she attend this school. I love this school. I have attende this school for 3 yrs. I am in 8th grade now. Advance acadmic and my fave teacher is mrs.Whitehead.

My child attended this school. I believe that the school is probably doing the best that it can with the resources that it has. A lot of the classes are overcrowded, based on my observation.I think that the main issue may be that there is not enough funding to address every issue that that they have.

This is not a bad school,I went to this school. Also my two cousin now attend that school. They have nice and wondreful program for everyone. They have progrm called the 'BEST FRIENDS' club. That teaches girl about sex, drugs and, acholico. My cousins is now bringing home good grades. To any other parent out there I would like to suggest that you send your child to West Baltimore Middle School. Now we call it 'Rock Glen'. But it is still a good school. Also they have step team to. When I was up there it was called 'The WBMS Show Stoppers'. Well any way that is a really good school!

This school is not bad. People only tell about the bad things in the school. I went froma c student to a a and b student. My teacher did not give up on me so we should not give up on the school.

My child hates the school. States the children are rude . I went to see my childs teacher and the students were running thru the halls knocking each other down and the foul mouth on those kids! Pray for this school, teachers and students

Horrible school! I will not send my child there again next year. I can't even tell you what she has learned. Fights every morning. Children walking the halls throughout the day. The teachers seem either like they dont care or that they've given up. My daughter went from an A student to a C. Next year she will not attend this school(if you want to call it that).

This school is not organized at all.The main problem in this school is lack of communication between school staff and parents, and children with no home training.West Baltimore Middle has a lot of disruptive children that do not need to be there at all.West Baltimore Middle School use to Be 'Some Place Special',now its 'Some Where for Children to Fear'.I attended this school, and this school has really gone down hill, they need better staffing, school security, and more parents to be involved, then may be you will be able to say ' Some Place Special'.

A school in total chaos! The school is very chaotic (most of it is because of the over 1100 student population..) My child is in seventh grade, and is not getting everything she needs to learn because of clowns in the classroom. The teachers rather wait on the students to settle down, instead of removing the problem children. The gigantic class size also contributes to the downfall of the school. One of my child's classes has 41 students in it (it actually started out with 48!) I do not recommend this school to anyone's child. If your child wants to play and joke all day, this may be the school for them. I would recommend Rognel Heights though. Great school, great population and great learning. My child just might be attending a new school next year.
