Edmondson-Westside High School Reviews

My son and I were elated to be accepted at EWHS. A lot of my relatives, including my brother, his wife and my younger sister attended EWHS. I have always preceived this school to be the best as it relates to sports. My son plays sports and is doing well academically. I like EWHS and would recommend this learning institution with great pride.

I honestly hate this school. It's probably the worst learning enviroment you could put your children in. The enviroment is full of rudeness and disrespect and not to forget how dirty the school is. And one other thing who decided to issue a leadership class for the 9th grade. I have no problem with the JROTC because student sgin up for that crap if they want it but a leadership class is not needed. I dont want my child going to the army and I dont want him to be learning about violence. This school dont let you choose which classes your child want because I have tried many of times to get my child out of that pathetic class but no they wonot let you.

My younger brother Jerry Lovelocke goes to this school and he plays on the Varisty Football team as the Quaterback. He tells me how this school is good for him and the teachers there are really cool.

I attended Edmondson High for the 06-07,07-08,and first quarter of 08-09 school years...I liked it alot...the pros weigh out the cons...though there are a lot of cons...Drug use, gangs,Bullies, and thefts...thats the main reason why I will not continue my junior and senior year at Edmondson...

Edmondson has been a big threshold in my life.i have had some bad experiences but the best experiences have happened at Edmondson .I now am an alumni of the class of 2007.In some ways I would like to turn back the hands of time and do a lot of great, fulfilling, and exciting things.I can't wait for the 2007 class reunion .

This is a good school espescially the westside building because of the many diffrent trades. The students and the staff are great. The students are eager to learn and the teachers are proud to teach and very eager.

I graduated in 2002, and absolutely love Edmondson. The teachers were great (Ms. Thomas, Thompson, Peales, Harris, Mr. Smith, Mountain, Blimline, Rosey-everybody!) Now that I live out of state and have little ones of my own; I truley value the hard work and passion of Edmondson's teachers. I just hope my little girls have teachers like I had.

As a senior at Edmondson-Westside, I now know the true meaning of school pride. I am proud to say that I attend Edmondson-Westside. The students are great (most of the time) and the teachers are just excellent. I could not have asked for a better school to attend.

I am a former parent of a student at Edmonson Westside and I can say the for the most part the students were actively concerned about their education. Most are very mature and hard working. Their are a few who are not but that's with any school. Edomonson is safe and all the children learn. Many of the teachers live in the community so it's like one big family. Way to go Edmonson!

As an alumni of Edmondson Westside High School, i think that it is a great school. I like the fact that the programs that they have are hands on. In cosmotoloty, you do hair, in culinary arts you cook, in computer repair you repair computers. It's amazing. I loved my high school career. I couldn't have made a better decision attending that school. (Class of 2005)

Edmondson is great I love the teachers because they are fair and honest(most of the time)and the best teacher i've ever had Ms.Love Davis

For me, Edmondson was somewhere to go when I didn't want to go home. As my school years went on, I began to appreciate the school more. My grades were outstanding and the work is easy if you pay attention. Shout out: Ms. Tonya Luster! She is the most kindest person you will ever meet. Reppin 07

I am a graduate of Edmondson class of 99. This is a good school and the teachers that was there when i attended Edmondson was great. When i go up to Edmondson to visit, there is a sence of pride through out the school. I feel that things are pretty much the same there now compared to when i attended Edmondson.

Hi I graduated from EWHS in 1997 the school was excellent then and since then it has done nothing but gotten better... I am proud to be alumni.

I think Edmondson Westside Highschool is a really good school. The teachers are great role models and they always put forth the effort to help you. When you walk into Edmondson, it makes you feel proud that you are apart of such a modest school. As a Junior, I feel that this school has helped me with all that I need. My teachers has always motivated me to do the best. One teacher really stands out. Her name is Ms Peggy Thomas and she is one of a kind. Thank you Ms Thomas.

I think that Edmondson Westside High is a great school. You have great afterschool activities. The teachers are willing to stay afterschool to help you out with anything. As a student(class of 2006) I should know how the school works. I have business as my trade and they thought me some things eventhough I already knew how to do it from my mother. Some teachers you will get along with and some you wont. Ex: Rosey is a teacher you will get along with eventhough he is a hard teacher.

As a member of the class of 2005, I can say without a doubt that the teachers of Edmondson Westside care. They care about the wellbeing of your child and consistiently helps your child achieve their goals. The staff at Edmondson (ie teachers, admnistrators, and many others)always try to encourage the students to put their best foot foward and strive for the best no matter what it maybe. Even though they are hard on us at times we should realize that it's in our best interest.

The school is well rounded and, the school would be a wonderful experience for your child. The teachers care in the school. (Class of 2004 Historian) Michael Moore

After having graduated from Edmondson-Westside High School in the class of 2003 I must say that Edmondson is an excellent school. The teachers and staff are concerned with educating each student. The Career and Technology Education programs help to teach skills that can be used in higher education, the workplace, and every other circumstance in life.

I am not a parent, but I graduated the president of the school(2003). I would highly recommend Edmondson- Westside Senior High. It is a well rounded high school.

As a Junior at this school I feel that the school has a lot of interesting career and technology programs in which students can take up courses in a field they wish to have later in life. I'm in the Culinary Arts program. In there my teachers Chef Cole and Chef Hinnant do their very best to try to make the trade more fun. Above all, Edmondson is the best school for Career and Technology programs. (class of 2005)

This is a pretty good school if your child likes sports and extracurricular activities. The safety of the school is not that great becuase the children have to cross a busy street in between classes. The overall curiculum is good, although I do believe it could better.
