Dr. Nathan A. Pitts Ashburton Elementary/Middle School Reviews

My child is a transfer student and I am very pleased at how structured the school is. I beleive he's going to have a excellent school year.

Their cutomer service skills need much improvement. They have very poor timing in making parents aware of the chnages and any other notifications.

My child is in 3rd grade and has completed two school years with Ashburton Elementary. The school promotes great sucess and gives children options to achieve in and out of class.

My oldest child has attended Ashburtion since Pre-K in 2000 and is now in the 6th grade. I now have two children attending the school and I am looking to transfer my kids to a charter school with high test scores in the fal of 2008. In my opinion, principal L. Miller is not concerned about the academic success or safety of her students. Ms. Miller approaches situations or cocerns with a non-caring attitude. I have lived in this neighborhood for many years and have seen this school at it's best. At this point in time, this school is at it's worst and does not appear to be getting any better. I feel that a great number of parents are involved and assist when they can ; however, most of the teachers are more concerned about themselves rather than educating our children. I feel that Principal Miller should be replaced.

My child attended pittsash. Prek/k. The teachers don't attend often enough. Do not send your children here if you care about their academic success. The principal. Lucy miller is always on defense. There are other options. We can do much better. Please use your resources.- A very concerned parent

My son attends this school. The principal leadership was excellent - very hands on by both Principal and Assistant Principals, teacher involvement/quality was excellent, not sure about the amt of extracurricular activities. Parent involvment was minimal to say the least based on the population of the students. Compared to other Baltimore City schools, of which my son has attended 1 1/2 during his 9 years of schooling, Ashburton rates highest without question. The overall neighborhood involvement appears to be greater than parent involvement. We did not have any safety concerns.

My son has attended Ashburton Elementary for two years. It was my understanding that this was a very good school with strong teachers. I am very disappointed with what we have encountered in the last year here, and my son will be attending a new school in the fall. The leadership, beginning with the principal is poor. The majority of the teachers that showed a responsive attitude to the educational needs of students left either voluntarily, or were fired for reasons unknown to parents. Finally, the school, which is in a prosperous neighborhood, is being overun by the thugs in the middle school. It is not a positive or safe environment.
