Meade Middle School Reviews

Hi, I am a 7th grader at this school You should know that the bad reviews that people are sayind is really not true. The teachers try there very bestto keep this school up and running without any fights. The test scores are very good. Besides even if there are a whole lot of fights, you don't have to blame it on the whole entire school you can just blame it on the student that has caused the fight. The teachers are very nice they make sure you you have a great education. They are extremely nice they let you do re-do's on test. NOw if you ask me I think that a good way to run a school.

I really don't want to give it 1 star. I have never seen an administrations so dysfunctional. My son has learning disabitlities and they have completely dropped the ball. I met with them last year at this time and they promised us the moon. How they were going to work with him and keep him at the level that he was at and it has just been a nightmare. My son's excitement for learning is completely gone after years of working with him in elementary school. I am in the process of transferring him out.

I'm a 6th grader at Meade Middle. This school rocks I dont understand why people be saying it's a bad school and all that other stuff. Yeah there are fights and all but there are fights in all schools even private. I have noticed that the only people that get in those fights are because of a reason like they started it or they were doing something or they were in like a group of something so yeah dont blame the school its the kid. The administration is great i havent got in trouble once they are very fair people and they do care because i was in a mini problem i talked to them about it and they helped they do care. Everyone is very nice it's a great school i wish i wouldnt never have to go to high school but eventually i will have too -Meade student

I am a student at Meade and I am in the 7th grade. Our school has made major efforts to prevent bullying and the guidance counselors are very nice and they are always available. The administration is great. Sometimes I think they are strict but they are strict in our benefit. I was recommended for the People to People Student Ambassador program and there have been about 2 more students who were as well. I think Meade is a wonderful school!

I am not a parent but a student in the 8th grade. Being in the school for the past 3 years I know most of these horrible reviews are not true. The teachers are really nice and give you chances to make work up and do extra-credit. There are alot of smart kids at the school who are in advanced classes. Right now I'm in Geometry-10th grade class, and most of my friends are in Algebra-9th grade class. The school has many extra-curriculurs and I'm in tutoring. The tutoring is free and my tutor, a Female worker at NSA, really helps. The principal and asst. principal try their best to keep order. They have anti-bullying programs and Peer Mediation. This year, there has been only a few fights total. We get process reports monthly and parents always have the opportunity to contact teachers.

I finished eighth grade back at Meade in June. For the most part, Meade was a great school. Teachers really care about you, and the administration is usually ready to assist you. There are also great clubs there. I was in the National Junior Honor Society & loved it. There are many extra help sessions. Of course there is some bullying but that's to be expected at all schools(and there is Peer Mediation at Meade). Eighth graders also get a formal, picnic, and graduation ceremony at the high school(which is in walking distance!) Meade is clean, new, and well kept.

My granddaughter attends Meade Middle. I have found there are some people there that are very professional about their jobs and really care about the children. I want to thank Margaret Haacke (counselor) for being there through last year and this year to support and help me in any situation that I have ask help on. I have also found an assortment when it comes to teacher. Some are very response and act like they love their jobs. Other teachers seem to come in, do what they have to do and leave.

My oldest daughter went thru Meade Middle and loved it! The teachers were wonderful from 6th thru 8th grade. My youngest daughter finds it 'ok' fun sometimes and loves the afterschool guitar and art classes. I have had an issue with a couple of teachers this year, I went to the school and spoke directly to the teacher and it was taken care of. The Administration is the best. If I feel I need to address a situation at the school I can talk to the Principal or the Asst. Principal. They are always available. They have an open door policy. I have substituted in several schools in the area and Meade Middle stands above all. Some of the schools were uncontrollable. Meade is very structured and has a great safety record. I recommend you visit this school to see you yourself.

I am a parent of 6th grade student and this school it is the worse. The counselors are terrible the comunication between parents and teachers its terrible, they don't returned your calls; I had to go three times to the school to get in touch with the teachers with no luck. Only 2 teacher had the courtesy of calling me. I had to send a letter to the principal in order for the other teachers to contact me. I am a concerned parent and seems that people not care the couselor said he would talk to my son, well he hasn't. How could he! He did not wrote my son name anywhere. If you have the choice of enroll your child in a good school, I am changing my child to a private school. It a lot of fighting also no dicipline at all.

this school its terrible, my son never had problems in school until now, the teachers dont returned your calls; i had to send a certified letter to the principal to get a respond; after many trips to the school to leave messages, my son behavior had changed, these people dont care..i am in the process of transfering him from this school.

I am not a teacher here but a 7th grade student. I really like one of my teachers, and she gives us good grades and treats us well. Sometimes, the administration doesn't give you all of the attention you need, and will send you to the office for things you do not do. Also, last year I got a C in one subject because I was given a failing grade for something that the whole class did not do. But it's not a bad school - I have met many good friends and there are some really good teachers on 7B side this year. If there are fights, people stop them. Sometimes the administration also won't care if you are bullyed and teased, though. -Christine, a student

I am not a parent at Meade Middle. I am a 7th grade student at meade, I really dont care what anyone says I love Meade Middle. Yeah there are fights and harassment, but there is that in every single school wheather you want to admit it or not. I love Meade Middle school. I wouldnt change to a different school for the world! It is great! The people here no how to have fun and definatly livein the place up a bit! There is always something interesting going on. Just the way I like it. Anyone who takes their kid out of that school is wrong! Because this school is perfact. I just cant put in words how much I just love this school!

My daughter has just started in this school. It is terrible, a lot of harrasement and name calling. The teachers and the administrators do not seem to care. The extra help my daughter was promised has never come through. I removed her from this school and she is now in private school.

I'm not a parent of a student here, but my brothers attended at Meade Middle School, and when we got to Kansas and put them in school here, they were failing horribly for not being prepared. Not only this, but my brother was jumped at the Meade Middle School. I don't think this school is a safe environment for students, and they won't get the full potential of learning before College.

I am not a student of Meade Middle, nor a parent of a child that goes there. I am studying to become a teacher and had the opportunity to observe Meade Middle School for the last 4 months. I think that it is a great school personally. In comparison to my own middle school and other schools I have seen, I was quite impressed with Meade Middle. The teachers that I worked with cared very much about their students, and were very knowledgeable in the content they taught. It's a clean, well kept school that has a lot of facilities and support for the students. Many of these kids don't know what discipline is. That's not the school's fault.

Poor school. Both my daughters attend and has had nothing but trouble, from honor roll students in elementary school to nearly failing grades since attending. Broken promises to the families from tutoring to after school programs. There is constant fighting among the student population everyday. The adminastrators do not follow through with the parents regards to thier childrens safty nor education. They handle situations with no regards to the wellfare of the students either. I have had nothing but disappointment in the two years my daughters have attended this school. They will not work with anybody. Your safest bet if your child/ren is subjected to this school is to keep in touch with the teachers, that is the only people who take the time to reach out and help and will work with you.

I have had nothing but trouble with this school since my son started. This is his last yr. No one seems to care. No one returns calls so if you have a problem go in to the school or call everyday till you talk to someone. That includes the Vice Principal and the Principal.
