Severn River Middle School Reviews

I think this school is the greatest school in the world. Because the techers care for all there students and one child is never left behind. I would know because I'am a student there and if I get a bad grade me teachers would help us to learn it and let us do it again. So yes this is the best school. Your student, Britney Day

I think SRMS is a great school. The adter school clubs are fun for me. They have drama club, Ophelia club, math club and lots of other fun clubs. Most of the teachers are nice, and make leaning fun for me.

I believe that the sixth graders have had a challenging third marking period. The homework is enough to make the sixth graders think, but light enough not to stress them out. The only problem that I think could seriosly affect the develoment of the sixth graders is that on the bus, a select few of seventh and eigth graders are ganging up on and bothering the younger students.

After the roof collapse in February 2003, and the roof-leakage during the summer of 2003 and the beginning of the school year began with no air conditioning, both of my daughters were very unhappy with the school. Although the test scores are very high, I strongly believe the faculty has nothing else to help raise the liking of the school. It has become very common for children to go to public elementary school, private middle school, and public high school.

the only thing i like about going is that i get to go and say hey to mr. deen every hour

Seeing a downhill trend to quickly say 'No' to suggestions by new principal. Been at school for two years with another one entering 6th grade this fall. Simply holding the rudder steady during her tenure as principal is one way to stay 'safe' but it stifles creativity by studenst and staff alike.

I loved this school, there are many great clubs and teachers who are compassionate about teaching. I have to say, what I love most about this school is the music program. Props Mr.Tayman, you make us look good!

I LOVE this school! when I moved I was so sad. it is a nice place to learn

the best middle school you could ever go to. best teachers and students and administrators.

I think Severn River is a great school filled with caring teachers!

If you want your kids to do well on Maryland's standardized tests then send them to Severn River Middle. If you want them to get an education, send them elsewhere. The school is so concerned about the state tests that they spend an inordinate amount of time preparing the students for them at the expense of a real education. I would not recommend this school to others.

My son came into 7th grade at SRMS from Catholic School, and we have been very pleased. The Guidance Dept. is terrific and gives attention to concerns at a level that I would expect only at a much smaller school. SRMS has also begun the 'College Ed' program in 7th grade, and that is a great program. The library/media center is excellent, and the Book Talk program is a nice enrichment to Language Arts.
