St. Pius X provides a nurturing learning environment where each child is known by name by all the teachers, staff, and students. The teachers and the administration work very closely with the parents to ensure that the school delivers a high quality experience academically, emotionally, and spiritually.

The principal and the teachers take a great deal of pride in their students and the school. The principal knows the name of all of her students all of them.

A wonderful school for the youngest student. By the second week of pre-k my son, my son knew quite a few of the older kids by name.

My daughter is in her second year of attendace. Having been a first grader for almost two months, she has already learned so much. The work is challenging, the teachers are caring, and the class size is small. My daughter is comfortable and happy at this school and with her peers.

My child has attended St. Pius for five years and I can not express enough how much the school and teachers have made us feel like family and how the teachers have a genuine interest in the well being of all of their students.

I like the curriculum at St. Pius X school. The teachers are prepared and provide the students with sufficient tools to excel. It is very inviting to speak with the teachers when they take so much pride in their teaching. The Athletic Association is progressive and has a lot to offer a student at any level of interest. Also, the Christian environment is a plus. It is definitely a great school to have your child attend!

The small size and Christian atmosphere has been a great advantage for both my son and daughter who attend. They have both grown in their confidence level in addition to their academics.

I taught in the Catholic school system for 40 years. Out of all the schools, St. Pius X always has had a special place in my heart. High academic standards have always been important, but our faith based family has been the priority. I now substitute there and I still continue to feel the love and concern for each child present.

St. Pius X School challenges its students to be the very best persons that they can be, both within and outside the classroom. In addition to offering a very solid academic envionrment, the school provides its students with a safe and nurturing atmosphere in which they can learn and grow as individuals. Thanks to the combined efforts of its fantastically talented and incredibly dedicated administrators, faculty and staff, St. Pius X School is a wonderful place for its students. It's an incredible gem of a school, and Baltimore is a much better place because of its presence in our community.

St. Pius X continues to provide my child with a challenging academic program as well as character education and social awareness. The atmosphere is professional yet nurturing. There is never a doubt that educators or families are available to come to your aid if you need it. The example set by this environment is one I would wish for every parent and child to experience.

This is my son's first year at SPX school, and I feel very comfortable leaving him in the care of the faculty and staff. I am very impressed with how organized they are, and their care and concern for the students. I have seen positive changes in my son personally as well as academically. My husband and I made the right decision to send our son to SPX.

St Pius offers a quality education in an exceptional environment. A catholic parish school, it re-enforces the values that we teach at home and our children learn in church. The community of involved parents is extraordinary.

My children are alumni of this great school. Academically they were slightly above average students. They learned more about respect and responsibility at St. Pius X School then their peers at other schools in the Baltimore area. They continue to hold the friendships they developed at St. Pius dear to their hearts. I know both could name almost everyone in their classes and have been in countless weddings of their grade school friends. They both attended Catholic High Schools and colleges and have jobs paying significantly more than their parents! Parent involvement in extra curricular activities along with quality teaching made them what they are today.

Our daughter has been enrolled at spx since the first grade. We chose the school and then became parishoners because of our school choice. We do not live in that particular parish. The children look happy, and there is a sense of family; a tone we attribute to our principal. She knows every child's name and promotes an open door policy for parents. The school has excelled academicaly in the past 3 years and we decided to keep our child there during the middle school years for this reason. There is also a tremendous parental involvement especially with fathers. We have never had a negative experience with any of our daughter's teachers. These professionals work hard for little pay. Their dedication is truely inspiring. James and deborah o'connor

My son is currently in the 1st grade, having attended SPX since Pre-K. He truly loves school and looks forward to going every day. I feel that the diversity found at SPX is one of the school's best attributes. It warms my heart to see children of all races playing together and developing life-long friendships. I am also delighted with the number of opportunities the children have to participate in various service projects. The school is dedicated to developing students with strong social consciences. The families that we have met there have been some of the nicest, most down-to-earth, progressive people that we know. SPX has become a second home for our family. Although we are not thrilled with our 25 minute commute to SPX, we wouldn't send our son anywhere else!

Both of my children have been students of SPX since their inital school experience in the Pre K level. We have been apart of the SPX Family since 2003. I realize that in hard times that some families may have to withdraw and comit to a public school experience for economical reasons but I must say from my own standpoint every dollar that I put towards my children's education is well spent at SPX. I am a strong believer that your child's environment has as much as an impact as the actual educational portion of 'learning'. I do feel sorry for those people who have posted negative reviews on this site. Perhaps there was not enough parent involvement, I truley believe that is a major key to your child's success in their educational career. SPX ' not just a school, a

I have had 3 children at SPX. One is now in high school while the other 2 remain at SPX and will graduate from there. It has been the best decision I have ever made in the raising of my children. They have grown spiritually, emotionally and academically. My oldest was very prepared for high school and is excelling. The teachers at SPX are well qualified in their academics as well as their caring, nurturing attitude toward the students. The administration is second to none and when I drop my children off in the morning, I know that they are with people that truly care about them as students and people.

Very poorly run school, going downhill fast. They are losing students and perhaps now teachers. We were not pleased with this school at all.

My daughter is in the Pre-Kindergarten at St. Pius. I am pleased with the school's program, as my child has grown academically, spiritually, and emotionally. Many of my family members are also impressed with the school, based upon the experiences my daugher has had this school year. My daughter is very excited to share what she is learning in school each day. As a result of a conversation, my daughter inspired my mother to research various artists and their work (Picasso, Henri Matisse, and Marie Lorenchen). I feel that my child is in a safe and nurturing environment. In addition, the school communicates effectively with parents and provides many opportunities for parent engagement. By the way, the parents are very active in the school community. Overall, this experience has been good for my child.

My child has been attending SPX from Pre-K thru 3rd grade. My child's experience has been a mixed one: The school is less creative and progressive in areas of academics, i.e. integrating the use of technology in learning. I feel his self-esteem has been affected by a character-building program that is not reinforced by the behaviour of some of its teachers dealing with bullying, etc. The focus on information overload and heavy homework commitments doesn't seem to translate into improved test scores, especially in the upper grades in math and science. Lack of integrating creativity and critical thinking has been another concern. As well, the lack of progressive attitude towards unstructured playtime and/or the importance of fresh air breaks in the busy daily schedule of repetitive seatwork has become a key disappointment. The biggest strength, by far, of the school is its families: most are warm, diverse, supportive and very involved.

My family has been part of the St. Pius X School community for 10 years. It has been one of the best choices we have made for our 3 children. They have grown academically, spiritually and emotionally. Teachers, staff and administrators provide a safe, nuturing environment while achieving academic excellence in all areas. My family is proud to be a SPX family.
