Mount De Sales High School Reviews

I'm currently a freshman at MDS, and I love it! It is the best school in Maryland if you are looking for a Catholic environment. We have been nominated a top 50 Catholic high school in the nation for 4 years running!

I love being a student at Mount de Sales. It's not just a school, it's a family.

I graduated from Mount De Sales in 2001. I'm very proud to have went there and know that it has been instrumental in making me the person I am today. Teachers and faculty are attentive, sometimes even tough, but all for good reason. My classmates and I learned the value of discipline and hardwork, earning millions of dollars in scholarships by graduation. Don't get me wrong, everyone there was also kind and approachable. Many of us became very close with the sisters and with teachers. But more than anything, the school gives you faith and values. Even if you aren't catholic, like myself, the basic tenants of Catholicism, especially love and tolerance, are invaluable to ANY developing student. I highly recommend this school, and hope to send my daughters there someday!

My daughter just graduated from this high school! It is fantastic! The leadership of the administration, the quality of the teachers and the school itself are beyond reproach! They push the girls hard to learn and encourage them to be the best! The sisters that run the school are firm but sensitive caretakers and mentors to the girls. My daughter wants to be a dentist and the education she has received here has prepared her very well for the rigors of pre-med and med school. The school is steeped in a tradition that dates back over 150 years. There are many sports activities and extra curricular activities for the girls. This school routinely has the most scholastic scholarship money awarded to its graduates every year in the Baltimore area. I highly recommend this school! Kevin Massey, daughter- Angela, Class of '04.

Mount de Sales Academy for Girls (MDSA) is tops. We sent our two daughters there a few years ago. One, very gifted, graduated with enough AP credits to begin her sophomore year in college. The other, average throughout elementary and high school, soared to success in college with top grades and a student leadership position. Both girls were well prepared at MDSA. The school is very, very Catholic. The young ladies are poised, polite and pleasant. After graduation one year, several MDSA girls went to Ocean City for Senior week, as do almost all in our area. The MDSA girls went to Mass on Sunday while they were there. This says it all in terms of religious training. Excellence si expected and achieved. It is not unusual for all of the girls in an AP class to score a 5 on the exam. The college scholarship list is also very long.
