Is war an inevitable expression of human nature This course will examine the experience of war and changes in cultural attitudes regarding war over two and a half millennia. A handful of seminal books, including
The Iliad, A Savage War of Peace, and Alistair Horne's
A Savage War of Peace: Algeria 1954-1962 will serve as the basis of our investigation.
