Description:
We're going to try something a little different here. Our first of two Academic Studies (yes, you read that right) for this week will still be at the Enoch Pratt Free Library on the corner of Orleans Street and Central Avenue, across from the Burger King and by the Johns Hopkins medical campus. They have a free parking lot. The link has directions and information for public transportation. If you can't make this one, I'll hold one on Sunday, 20 April 2008 from 1-3 at the Elkridge Branch of the Howard County Library. Agenda for Academic Study : If we have more than three people-- --Hangul Introduction (I'll make sure I bring a small white board to write characters.)* --Chapter one (pp1-11) of Elementary Korean by Ross King and Jae-hoon Yeon, ISBN 0-8048-2079-1 (I'll print copies, and thanks, Jason for letting me borrow yours). *The Hangul introduction is probably going to stay until I can create and put a better guide (with clips!) on the download pages. As far as book chapters, we're moving on after this week. Pictures so I can replace the stock photo. If we have less than three people I will sing "Arirang" American Idol-style. (Actually, Doug does a much better rendition of "Arirang," so I'll probably sing "Sarang-hae.") Just kidding--if there's a low turnout, I'll make it worth your time and gas by assessing where you are language-wise and we'll work on that. Or do a language exchange, except I'll try not to forget every other word (sorry, Rob ^_^).
