Artist Bio
Hi my name is, Prudencio Torres and I have been an Artist for almost my entire life. I started putting the pencil to the paper with my visions at the early age of five. . I have been a freelance artist for the last thirty three years and I am always searching for new and exciting projects.
I was born and raised in the inner city of Baltimore Maryland, which was great , because it has allowed me to utilize my imagination and creativity and bring my vision to life. In 1985, I was accepted into the The Baltimore School for the Arts. My concentration was specializing in visual arts and in looking back over that time, some of the most talented and famous students attended the school for the Arts and it was one of my most memorable and incredible times I ever had and one of the most pleasurable ones. After Graduating in 1987, I joined the talented group of Artist at Penn Advertising, where I continued to grow and develop my talent in the hand painted billboard art. That was a true art form of expression and it was becoming extinct, but I loved it. I was named the number one top billboard artist on the east cost at the age of twenty in 1989. I was featured in the Baltimore Sun for my work in hand painting of billboards and I loved to do it.
I don't consider this work, for me it's my life's passion. How do you considering even calling this work I am very fournate in the fact that I can say that everyday I love what I am doing. In 1998, I left the advertising business and decided that I would try my hand at freelance . While, freelancing I tried my hand at another field of art," the Culinary arts." I Graduated in 1998 from The Baltimore Culinary Institute. Worked as a Executive Chef for Hunt Valley Catering in Timonium, MD, Harbor Hospital and The University of Maryland. I was able to incorporate my love of Visionary art into the Culinary art the love of two pallets.
