Amicci's of Little Italy a Baltimore Landmark
Jan 24, 2010
Amicci's of Little Italy has been bringing authentic Italian favorites to Baltimore for 20 years. This casual eatery is located within two 100-year-old townhouses in the heart of Little Italy and was voted as Baltimore's best Italian restaurant by the Readers Poll of City Papers in 2008. The perfect spot for a family meal or a business lunch, the smell of baking garlic bread and quiet, laid-back atmosphere are extremely welcoming.
Quite possibly the hands-down favorite on Amicci's versatile Italian-American menu is the chicken parmigiana: a juicy, boneless chicken breast coated in flavorful breading and fried until golden brown set atop a bed of perfectly-cooked, golden spaghetti noodles and topped off with rich marinara and melted provolone cheese. Other favorites include potato gnocchi with fresh spinach, roasted peppers and prosciutto in a creamy alfredo sauce; sweet sausage cacciatore with mushrooms, green peppers and onions over linguine topped with savory marinara, and cheese-filled tortellini with peas, prosciutto and alfredo sauce.
American-Italian specialties at Amicci's include a "grandmotherly" lasagna filled with rich meat sauce, whole milk ricotta and melted provolone and baked penne pasta with meat sauce and melted cheese.
Fresh shrimp is also one of Amicci's lures: Shrimp Fra Diavolo in a spicy marinara with linguine and Shrimp Kelly with zucchini, onions, basil and garlic are just two of the options available.
A kid's menu featuring child-friendly favorites like chicken fingers, pizza and linguine or penne with marinara, meat sauce, butter and cheese or alfredo sauce is on-hand to keep the little ones' bellies full, too.
An extensive wine list featuring many local and imported varietals means that you'll find the perfect red, white or blush to accompany your meal choice.
In addition, Amicci's offers a private party room for up to 80 guests. For information on booking a party at Amicci's, call (410) 528-1096.
