Eddie Tombs's Bio
Eddie B. Tombs Jr. was born in Baltimore, Maryland on October 23, 1955 to Willie Delores Tombs and the Late Eddie B. Tombs Sr. His parents and grandmother saw a gift as well as a love of art in Eddie at an early age. They enrolled him in Baltimore Museum of Art Youth program in the mid 1960 which constitutes his first structured training in an art program. Eddie attended William H Lemmel Junior High where he excelled in the arts under Ms. Clark. Eddie received further training in the arts at Walbrook Senior High School under the direction of Mrs. Reva Lewie who at that time was head of the Art Department there. Mrs. Lewie had a big influence in Eddie’s life with regards to the Arts. She expose Eddie as well as other students to everyone from Romare Bearden to Rembrandt. After high school, Eddie entered the U.S. Army and was honorable discharged in 1979. Eddie’s educational interest change and he enter the than Coppin State College in its Management Science program obtaining his B.S. Degree in 1983. Since that time, Eddie has been employed with the Social Security Administration here in Baltimore County. Still there was something missing in his life so Eddie took some additional art classes in the late 80s at the Community College of Baltimore County. Eddie has also taken many classes in the Information Technology Department there as well. Eddie is also a faithful member of Rising Sun First Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev Emmett C Burns Jr., PhD. Eddie hopes in the future to take some urban development courses being offer by Coppin State University’s Art Department. Eddie has also started his own art and printing business: ET Fine Arts. This business provides services from art purchases to printing jobs. The business also does websites design for other business owners or for personal needs. Eddie Tombs is married to the former Marian Diane Turner and has two beautiful children (Eddie and Danielle Tombs). Eddie owes all of his success to God and prayer. Having a loving and faithful wife, two children who are excelling in school would not be possible without the Lord’s help. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Phil 4:13
